A fierce activist for reproductive rights, Thea had become an abortion provider by her mid-20’s. Fearful of being targeted, plagued with doubts about her surgical skills, and with little support from loved ones, she quits, vowing to help from Just Outside the front lines. Fast forward three decades, the overturn of Roe forces Thea to confront her biggest regret–her choice years ago to choose safety over bravery, moving Just Outside. Through the storyteller-songwriting atmosphere of a basement feminist folk concert, Just Outside explores the complex nature of abortion rights, choice, and regret.
Jess has always provided Care to others, her altruism always challenged by the day to day grind in a system that doesn't Care--where success is based on how many visits you can generate a day. A medical error wakes her up to the harsh reality of providing Care to others; In her quest to find answers, she instead finds a way to Care for herself.
